Unlocking & penalties
vlLTP is not instantly liquid. To exit you start an unlock on an amount, which opens a cooldown slot of 30 days. When it ends you claim your LTP back in full.

- On the vlLTP card, open Unlock, enter an amount and click Start unlock.
- Confirm in the dialog. Each start opens its own 30-day slot.
- Follow it in the Cooldown tab, which appears while anything is unlocking.
Slots#
- You can have at most 5 slots. A finished but unclaimed slot still takes one; claim it to free it.
- Each slot shows its amount and unlock date in the card’s Cooldown tab.
- vlLTP in a slot stops earning and voting, but still counts toward Tier 2 in Lend until it leaves.
Three ways out of a slot#

The force-unlock penalty#
t = time since the unlock started, T = 30 days
penalty = amount × ½ × (1 − (t / T)²)
you receive = amount − penalty
The penalty starts at 50% and falls slowly at first, then faster: waiting the first half of the cooldown only reduces it to 37.5%.

The confirm dialog shows the amount you’ll receive before you commit; the final figure is computed at execution, so it can be slightly higher. Penalties are collected by the protocol, not redistributed to other lockers.
